Holmfirth, Hathersage & Knaresborough Clinics
We pride ourselves in providing quality, thorough, and appropriate neurodevelopmental assessments. We provide the highest level of support and care for our clients and spend the time getting to know each and every client we see.
We tailor our assessments to meet individual needs and differences, and assess using the most appropriate diagnostic tools. This allows us to gain a thorough understanding and provide informative, strength based reports and support plans.
For children and young people, we gather extensive information using pre-assessment forms filled out by the young person, parents and school. The assessment takes place over two separate appointments with involvement from multiple members of our highly specialist team. The appointments consist of a face-to-face in clinic appointment and a parental appointment (online).
For adult assessments, we collect pre-assessment information from the client and informant or informants. The assessment consists of an online appointment and a face-to-face, in clinic appointment with at least two members of our specialist team.
We also like to get to know you (or your child) so we can tailor our assessments to your individual interests, communications styles and needs, and ensure we can provide a comfortable assessment environment for you.
Our assessments are NHS & NICE compliant. We assess using semi-structured interviews, play-based tasks and utilise numerous standardised, evidence-based assessment tools, such as ADOS or QBcheck to inform our diagnostic conclusions.
Our assessments are needs-led and we will provide as many assessments as needed to ensure we can a develop a thorough understanding of your or your child’s differences.

We will provide you with feedback about the assessment, our understanding of your (or your child’s) differences and needs and personalised plan of support. The outcome of the assessment could be a diagnosis, it could also be a non-diagnosis but we will always explain in detail how we reached our clinical conclusions. We work closely with other professional services to ensure we can put in the most appropriate support package for you (or your child).
We are a neuro-affirming assessment service. Therefore, we provide a strength-based understanding of neurodiversity.
